OK, so I'm one of the "endless new recruits" that Dav talks about in the first post. New to Eve (like still in the 30 day period new) but already subscribed. Why? Because of Misfits.
I might be new to Eve, but I am not new to gaming, and when your gaming requires a great bunch of people to hang with, fight with, laugh with, laugh at, and troll, then life is miserable when you can't find that group. I got lucky. I read Mr. De's post and then I applied, not really expecting a reply, to be honest. I got a reply. Oh boy did I get a reply. I got invited to the corp. I was one day basking in the utter security of hi-sec, working my way through the Sister's arc, the next moment, I'm a corpse heading for an unknown station in an unknown part of space - all my ships left behind, all my newly accumulated gear left behind. Just a man and his Isk taking a leap of faith.
So, I've been in null sec for ages now (nearly two weeks!). I have been made welcome, I have been trolled, I have been refitted. I have been included in PvP action right from the start. I have mined. I have hunted 'rats. I have started to learn and I have been helped to learn. I am under no pressure whatsoever to do anything other than enjoy myself, so of course I am working as hard as I can to make Misfits stronger. I work weird hours and get on at weird times of the day sometimes. It doesn't matter. I've been made welcome since day one. I have found a home and I can't see myself leaving.
My hat off to Davos, who has worked tirelessly to explain stuff to me (and then explain it again and not even sound like he wants to crush my head between two lumps of Veldspar). Amazingly good game made more amazing by a great bunch of people. I have loads to learn. I don't even pretend to understand half of what's said in TS chat, but I leap into my trusty vessel, and head out into the bleakness of space secure in the knowledge that I'll have support if I need it, and more than happy to be part of that support for others when they do.
Come to 'the pocket' to be part of Misfits, or come to 'the pocket' to be part of the space debris. Misfits in MB-NKE extends a warm welcome to all, whether that be with the hand of friendship, or the pointy end of a missile.
Happy hunting!
